The challenge
Flooring Superstore had already invested in room visualisation, but the existing Roomvo workflow had become expensive to maintain and operationally heavy. The team needed a faster, more flexible way to help customers picture flooring in real rooms without carrying a large monthly cost or manually managing product uploads inside another platform.
The brief was simple: keep the customer-facing value of room visualisation, reduce spend, remove manual product admin, and create a better foundation for future marketing and personalisation.
The Contona workflow
Contona.ai onboarded Flooring Superstore quickly by scraping product data and imagery directly from the live Flooring Superstore site. That meant the team did not need to upload every product image into the visualiser manually, rebuild catalogue data, or create a separate content pipeline before going live.
Once the catalogue was available, Contona’s AI Room Visualizer could generate slick room-scene visualisations for flooring products, giving customers a clearer sense of colour, finish, scale and atmosphere before they committed to a purchase.
Why the switch mattered
The move from Roomvo to Contona.ai reduced the monthly cost of running visualisation while making the workflow more adaptive. Instead of relying on a fixed tool with heavy setup requirements, Flooring Superstore gained a more flexible AI platform that could support product visualisation today and wider ecommerce use cases tomorrow.
Key benefits included faster onboarding, no manual product-image uploads, automatic product ingestion from the site, cleaner AI-generated room scenes, reduced monthly spend, and a stronger foundation for turning visualiser behaviour into marketing intelligence.
Klaviyo and the next layer of marketing data
With Klaviyo integration in view, the visualiser becomes more than a product-page feature. Flooring Superstore can use customer interaction data to understand which flooring styles, room types, finishes and products shoppers are engaging with — then use that insight to shape follow-up campaigns, segmented email flows, abandoned browse journeys and more relevant product recommendations.
That creates a clear marketing advantage: shoppers are not just viewing a static product image, they are revealing preference signals through visualisation behaviour. Contona helps turn those signals into practical ecommerce opportunities.
Group-wide adoption
The rollout did not stop with one brand. The full Flooring Connection Retail Group is now using Contona.ai, giving the wider group a shared AI visualisation platform that can scale across brands, product ranges and future ecommerce experiences.
For a retail group with a large catalogue and multiple customer journeys, the benefit is consistency: one platform, faster setup, lower operational drag and more room to build data-led marketing around visual product engagement.
Josh Barber on the move to Contona
“The speed of onboarding was a big part of it. We did not have to manually upload every product into another tool — Contona could work from the products already on our site.” — Josh Barber
“The room visualiser gives customers the slick experience they expect, but the platform is also opening up new opportunities around data, marketing and how we follow up with shoppers.” — Josh Barber
“Moving the wider Flooring Connection Retail Group onto Contona gives us one AI visualisation partner across the group, with lower overhead and more flexibility for where we take the experience next.” — Josh Barber
